Rachel Maddow Is Possibly Leaving MSNBC in 2022

Rachel Maddow may be leaving.

The 48-year-old MSNBC anchor is reportedly considering leaving the network in 2022 at the end of her contract, via Variety.

Rachel Maddow has held onto the spot at MSNBC at 9 p.m. since September of 2008, following Keith Olbermann at the time.

She now “is in the midst of discussing whether she wants to stay at the NBCUniversal-owned network for another term, according to people familiar with the matter.”

According to the sources with knowledge of the situation, she is mulling “work-life balance and other possible media ventures as she considers her next steps.”

“Nothing has been decided. We are deep into it with NBCUniversal and Rachel has an excellent relationship with them.” said Mark Shapiro, president of the talent company, said in a statement via the company.

Rachel Maddow is also said to be interested in the possibilities of streaming or podcasting, and it was already speculated internally that she might consider stepping away after the 2020 election.
