Tom Girardi Officially Disbarred by California Federal Court Amid Embezzlement Scandal

Tom Girardi has been disbarred.

People writes that according to documents filed under the Central District of California, he did not contest the decision.

Tom‘s younger brother Robert Girardi was appointed his permanent conservator in June, with court documents filed in July citing the former attorney’s recent dementia diagnosis as the cause.

“Obviously I disagree with the conservatorship altogether and we’ll do everything we can to dissolve it as soon as possible,” he said in a statement after the conservatorship was announced. “I think we should put together reasons why the conservatorship should be dissolved and then we’ll address the court. But right now, there’s nothing to say to the court.”

His estranged wife Erika Jayne filed for divorce in November 2020 after 21 years of marriage. Days later, Tom and Erika were accused of embezzling money from his law firm to fund their lavish lifestyle.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star later said during an episode of the show that she decided to divorce Tom after learning he had cheated on her.
