The 33-year-old “star-crossed” singer-songwriter was announced as the latest performer at the upcoming ceremony on Thursday (August 26).

Kacey will hit the stage with a world premiere performance of her new title track “star-crossed.”

Additionally, beginning on Thursday (August 26) at 9 p.m. PT, MTV and CMT will exclusively air the premiere of her music video for “justified,” her second song from her upcoming fourth studio album star-crossed, which will be released on September 10.

The new song “justified” was teased on Instagram Reels. Watch below!

The MTV VMAs return to New York City, airing live from Barclays Center on Sunday, September 12 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
