Andy Murray Shades Stefanos Tsitsipas After US Open Loss: 'I Lost Respect For Him'

There is a bit of drama going on in the tennis world after one of the first big matches of the US Open.

In round one, two top tennis stars, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Andy Murray, played. Andy was not happy with the amount of medical time outs and bathroom breaks Stefanos took. Particularly when they lasted several minutes.

“It’s never taken me that long to go to the toilet. Ever,” Andy said during one of Stefanos‘ breaks.

“It’s just disappointing because I feel it influenced the outcome of the match. I’m not saying I necessarily win that match, for sure, but it had influence on what was happening after those breaks,” Andy said. “You could argue that I shouldn’t let that affect me. But genuinely it is difficult, like, when you’re playing such a brutal match in those conditions to have those breaks. Physically you can’t stop that from affecting you. Mentally, yes, but physically you can’t.”

“I think he’s great for the game but I have zero time for that stuff at all and I lost respect for him,” he said. “It’s nonsense. And he knows it, as well.”

Andy ended up losing to Stefanos, despite having some great momentum during parts of the match.

Today (August 31), it seems as if Andy is still not over what happened. See the tweet he sent out:
