JoJo Fletcher Claims Her 'Bachelorette' Contract Prevented Her from Doing 'Dancing With the Stars'

JoJo Fletcher is setting the record straight.

Some fans speculated that she was one of the contestants for season 30 of Dancing With the Stars after noticing she was in Los Angeles for work.

The 30-year-old reality star took to her Instagram stories to shut down rumors she’d be appearing on the show.

In response to a fan’s question about being on DWTS, she wrote, “LOL Everyone DMing me this!”

“I’m not, but funny story — I was supposed to do @DancingABC after my season of Bachelorette but ended up not being able to bc of my contract,” she claimed, per Us Weekly.

“Womp womp,” she said, adding a Napoleon Dynamite gif. “Not sure America could have handled my super sweet dance moves anyways.”

Bachelorette alum Kaitlyn Bristowe made a similar claim in an interview with Entertainment Tonight in March 2017.

“I believe men and women should be afforded the same opportunities. That has not been the case with the Bachelorettes and the Bachelors,” she said. “I had an offer to do Dancing With the Stars and was told by [Bachelor creator] Mike [Fleiss] I could not. … My hope in speaking out is that future Bachelorettes are given the same opportunity as Bachelors.”

ABC has confirmed some of the cast for the upcoming season and you can see who’s set to appear on the show here.

One of the contestants on season 30 will be making history for this reason.
