Kim Petras Embraces Her Inner ‘Horse Girl’ for the 2021 Met Gala
Kim Petras is making a major statement with her 2021 Met Gala look!
The 29-year-old “Heart to Break” superstar was spotted arriving at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday (September 13).
Kim stepped out in Collina Strada gown which featured a sculpted horse head on the bodice and a dramatic floral skirt. She paired the look with a long braided hair piece and strappy red heels.
She told red carpet host Ilana Glazer that she grew up riding horses and was representing “all horse girls and horse humans here” with her outfit, adding that it took two weeks to make the gown.
The annual Costume Institute Gala is the fashion world’s equivalent of the Oscars and the event is usually held on the first Monday of May, but it was postponed until September 2021 due to the pandemic. The theme this year is “In America” and there will be a two-part exhibit with the second part debuting at next year’s Met Gala.
