Tennis Stars Emma Raducanu & Leylah Fernandez Get Glam for Met Gala 2021

Emma Raducanu and Leylah Fernandez don’t just dominate the sports scene – they’re killing the fashion game, too.

The 18-year-old British tennis player and the 19-year-old Canadian tennis player, who just competed in US Open finals, both walked the carpet at the 2021 Met Gala on Monday (September 13) at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

Leylah reached her first Grand Slam final at the 2021 US Open, finishing runner-up to Emma. A royal wrote a special note to Emma!

The annual Costume Institute Gala is the fashion world’s equivalent of the Oscars and the event is usually held on the first Monday of May, but it was postponed until September 2021 due to the pandemic. The theme this year is “In America” and there will be a two-part exhibit with the second part debuting at next year’s Met Gala. Check out all the looks from the event!
