Bobby Brown Reacts to Reports of a Remake of Whitney Houston's 'The Bodyguard'

Fans are not pleased about the idea of a remake of Whitney Houston‘s classic film The Bodyguard - and it sounds like Bobby Brown isn’t, either.

The 52-year-old partner of the late legend spoke to TMZ amid rumblings of a remake of the iconic 1992 film, and he addressed those reports.

When asked if making a remake was a bad idea, he simply said: “Yeah.”

Matthew López, the Tony-nominated playwright of The Inheritance, has been hired to write the reimagining at Warner Bros., Variety reported earlier in the week, which led to criticism and disapproval on social media.

There’s no word yet on the possible cast.

The new movie will be “inspired” by the film starring Whitney and Kevin Costner, which grossed more than $400 million at the box office and has what is considered the bestselling movie soundtrack of all time.

At the same time, it’s been confirmed that a Whitney Houston hologram residency is coming.
