Jonathan Majors Reveals How He Got Cast as Kang the Conqueror in 'Ant-Man 3'

Jonathan Majors is getting candid about joining the MCU!

While Marvel has a reputation of undergoing putting actors through a lengthy audition process, Jonathan revealed that the process of joining the cast of the upcoming Ant-Man movie was pretty effortless.

In fact, he didn’t even have to audition!

Jonathan shared that Marvel execs had wanted him to play Kang the Conqueror for quite some time in an interview with Total Film (via Looper).

He thinks that Marvel noticed him after his role in The Last Black Man in San Francisco, but added that he “can’t say it was that film at all” that got him cast without an audition.

“The Marvel team has their ways,” Jonathan said. “It’s very much like getting a role in drama school. They’re just watching. You don’t audition for roles. You get into drama school, then the dean will watch what you’re doing. If they wanted you, you get tapped. That’s kind of what happened.”

It was announced that the actor had been added to the cast of Ant-Man 3 as Kang the Conqueror late last year .

Earlier this summer, Loki season one director Kate Herron opened up about casting Jonathan in the series.
