Sunny Hostin & Ana Navarro Tested Negative for COVID-19 on Rapid Tests Taken After 'The View' On-Air Fiasco

There was an on-air fiasco today on The View when it was announced that co-hosts Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro both tested positive for breakthrough cases of COVID-19, which led to their removal from the stage.

The moment happened just minutes before Vice President Kamala Harris was expected to make her first in-studio appearance for a talk show since becoming VP earlier this year.

“Sunny and Ana apparently tested positive for COVID. No matter how hard we try these things happen. They probably have a breakthrough case. They will be OK I am sure because they are both vaccinated,” said co-host Joy Behar as it was happening.

A reporter for People was in the audience and revealed some details that were announced to the crowd after they went off the air.

“A producer came on set to inform everyone that rapid COVID-19 tests had just come back negative for Hostin and Navarro,” reporter Nigel Smith said.

It’s unclear if the original tests were false positives or if the new rapid tests were false negatives.
