John Cena & Kathy Bates to Star in Political Thriller 'The Independent' Alongside Brian Cox & Jodie Turner-Smith

John Cena and Kathy Bates are teaming up for a new movie!

According to Deadline, the Misery actress and the F9 star have joined the cast of the new political thriller The Independent.

The movie also stars Jodie Turner-Smith and Brian Cox.

Here’s a summary: “Set during ‘the final weeks of the most consequential presidential election in history,’ the movie will follow an idealistic young journalist (Jodie Turner-Smith) who teams up with her idol (Brian Cox) to uncover a conspiracy that places the fate of the election, and the country, in their hands.”

John Cena and Kathy Bates will both play Presidential candidates. The film is set to begin production in November of this year in NYC.
