Nick Jonas Seen In NYC Before Big Broadway Producer News Is Announced

Nick Jonas wears a mask while stepping out in New York City on Tuesday (September 28).

The 29-year-old entertainer met with some fans who were waiting outside his hotel.

Later that day, Nick‘s brother Joe was also seen exiting the hotel, on his way to their Remember This Tour concert that night.

The next day, it was announced that Nick and his wife Priyanka Chopra Jonas have joined the producing team for the Broadway play Chicken & Biscuits!

“Broadway has always had a special place in my heart,” Nick said in a statement, via Deadline. “It helped launch my career. And after the last year and a half, Broadway is exactly what we need in this world. This play highlights the importance of love, laughter, and family. It’s got energy, it’s got style, and it’s got heart — the kind of vibe that is so unique to live theatre.”

“Broadway is back, but this time it’s a new Broadway,” Priyanka added. “It’s time we see some more diversity on the stage, and this cast and production team is making history on that front. This is a monumental moment for the industry, and I’m overjoyed to be a part of it. This is also my first foray into Broadway, so to bring this show to audiences with my husband Nick, who has so much experience in the medium, and at a time when we need it most, is a very proud moment for me.”

Chicken & Biscuits features a largely Black cast, including star Norm Lewis, who appeared in the Les Misérables in Concert: The 25th Anniversary with Nick. Also in the play is Michael Urie, who will be in the upcoming Jersey Boys TV event with Nick. They were also in the Broadway musical How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying together.

The play is currently in previews at the Circle in the Square Theatre and is set to officially open on Sunday, October 1t0h.
