Dolly Parton Reacts to Lil Nas X Covering Her Song 'Jolene'

Dolly Parton is sharing her thoughts on Lil Nas X‘s cover of one of her classic hits!

Last week, the 22-year-old “Industry Baby” rapper performed a cover of the 75-year-old country music icon’s song “Jolene” as part of BBC Radio 1′s Live Lounge series.

Then on Wednesday (September 29), Dolly took to social media to react!

“I was so excited when someone told me that Lil Nas X had done my song ‘Jolene’. I had to find it and listen to it immediately…and it’s really, really good,” Dolly wrote on Instagram, along with a photo of she and Lil Nas X posing together backstage at an event.

“Of course, I love him anyway,” Dolly added. “I was surprised and I’m honored and flattered. I hope he does good for both of us. Thank you @lilnasx 🦋”

Lil Nas X responded to Dolly‘s message, re-tweeting her post along with writing, “HOLY S–T.”
