Tilda Swinton's New Movie 'Memoria' Will Open In Theaters Around The World One City at a Time

Tilda Swinton wears a chic black dress to the premiere of her new movie, Memoria, during the 2021 New York Film Festival at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center on Tuesday night (October 5) in New York City.

The 60-year-old actress joined director Apichatpong Weerasethakul at the screening where they revealed that the flick will be on a never ending tour.

Neon, who is distributing the movie, will be bringing the movie to one city at a time.

After the debut in New York in December for one week only, the plan is for Memoria to “travel” between city and city, theater by theater, week by week, one at a time and play for a limited engagement each a week long.

“For Memoria, cinema experience is crucial or maybe the only way. Let’s embrace the darkness and dream, one at a time,” Apichatpong shared of the plan.

Tilda added that this is the “perfect film for this moment…Big cinema or bust…Throughout the universe, in perpetuity.”

Memoria centers on a Scottish woman, after hearing a loud ‘bang’ at daybreak, begins experiencing a mysterious sensory syndrome while traversing the jungles of Colombia.
