Jake Gyllenhaal Reveals His Cool Connection to Andrew Burnap, the Actor Who Beat Him at the Tony Awards
Jake Gyllenhaal is opening up about the cool connection that he has to actor Andrew Burnap, who won their category at the Tony Awards last month.
Jake and Andrew were both nominated for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play for their work in Sea Wall/A Life and The Inheritance, respectively.
The award went to Andrew and his show also won several other awards, including Best Play and Best Director of a Play.
While being interview on The Howard Stern Show on Tuesday (October 5), Jake talked about how he has known Andrew for years.

“Did I want to win? Sure. But I don’t really. I was so… I know Andrew, who won. The kid who won. I mean, the great thing about him, he used to help me run lines. He used to come to my office and help me run lines for a couple things,” Jake said. “It was amazing. When he went up, I threw my arms around him. I was so excited for him.”
