Blake Shelton evidently missed out on a part of pop culture in the early ’00s.

The 45-year-old country star revealed that he’d never heard Kelly Rowland and Nelly‘s 2002 Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit “Dilemma” during the latest episode of The Voice, shocking his co-stars.

After contestants Katherine Ann Mohler and Vaughn Mugol sang their rendition of the song during The Battles, Blake chimed in: “It’s interesting for me to hear John talk about you were going to be singing ‘Dilemma’…my thought was ‘Wow, I can’t wait to hear that song for the first time.’”

“Did you live under a rock?!” Kelly Clarkson exclaimed, as Ariana Grande screamed.

“This was an immensely huge hit song,” John Legend added.

“This was a huge song!” Kelly repeated.

“There were a lot of rocks where I lived,” Blake joked.

Ariana Grande also just poked fun at her enunciation skills.
