Also aboard the flight were former NASA engineer Chris Boshuizen, co-founder of Medidata Glen de Vries, and Audrey Power, Blue Origin’s vice president of mission and flight operations.

It was originally scheduled to take off on Tuesday, but was delayed due to bad weather and strong winds.

The shuttle lifted off in Texas, taking everyone 62 miles above the Earth’s surface and out past the Karman line, which is the boundary between the Earth’s atmosphere and outer space. The passengers will experience around four minutes of weightlessness during the trip.

Jeff Bezos joined his brother Mark Bezos, aviator Wally Funk and Oliver Daeman, the youngest person ever to enter space, for Blue Origin’s first space expedition back in July.

In a recent interview, William Shatner revealed why he had decided to go to space.
