According to production sources, he was suspended 70 feet in the air in a straightjacket hanging by his feet from a wire, and two cars were suspended on either side of him. The stunt was for him to free himself and fall onto an air mattress to avoid the cars crushing him as they swung in the air.

However, something went wrong, and the cars smashed together, with the stuntman in between. The impact caused the cars to explode, erupting in fire, as Jonathan fell and hit his head.

He was unresponsive after the crash, airlifted to a hospital and rushed into surgery. He’s in a trauma unit and his condition is unclear, according to TMZ.

This is also not the first time he’s participated in AGT: he was on the show last year in another big stunt.

We are wishing the best to Jonathan Goodwin at this time.
