HFPA Announces Date for Golden Globes 2022, Giving Us Two Major Shows on Same Day

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has made a big announcement about the upcoming 2022 Golden Globe Awards event.

It was previously believed that the Golden Globes next year would be canceled after NBC said they would not be airing the awards show amid controversy surrounding the HFPA. The organization is now planning on moving forward with an awards ceremony without NBC.

The HFPA has now announced a date for the 2022 awards ceremony… and another major awards show has already claimed that date.

The 2022 Golden Globe Awards will be held on January 9, with or without a telecast partner, according to Variety.

Nominations will be announced on December 13.

The Golden Globes originally had been scheduled for that date, but when NBC announced the telecast had been canceled, the Critics Choice Awards moved to that date. Now, it’s unclear if one of them will move or if they’ll remain on the same date.

Hollywood publicists have said they’ll keep their celebrity clients away from the Golden Globes until reform is made within the HFPA, so the awards might be handed out with no talent in attendance.
