NBC Stops Production on 'AGT: Extreme' Following Jonathan Goodwin's Accident

NBC has revealed that the set of AGT: Extreme has shut down following Jonathan Goodwin‘s accident.

In a statement, the network revealed the halt of production.

“Our thoughts and prayers remain with Jonathan Goodwin and his family as he continues to recover from his accident on Thursday. In order to focus on the wellbeing of our crew, we will be temporarily pausing production on America’s Got Talent: Extreme and will resume the last few days of filming at a later date. The health and safety of our cast and crew continue to be our priority,” an AGT production spokesperson stated.

Jonathan‘s accident occurred during a rehearsal for the show, were he was suspended 70 feet in the air in a straightjacket and hanging by his feet from a wire. Two cars had been suspended on either side of him. The stunt was for him to free himself and fall onto an air mattress to avoid the cars crushing him as they swung in the air.

However, the accident ended in Jonathan falling and hitting his head on the stage. He became conscious during the ambulance ride to the hospital, where he’s currently in a trauma unit.

This new AGT series will showcase the most outrageous, unique and jaw-dropping acts of enormous scale and magnitude that simply cannot be confined to a theater stage.

Each week contestants will go head-to-head in the most wild, intense and often times beautiful performances to vie for a $500,000 prize and the champion title.
