Penn Badgley Picks The Worst Thing His 'Gossip Girl' Character Ever Did

Penn Badgley is not a fan of Dan Humphrey.

The 34-year-old actor, while talking about the latest season of Netflix’s You, opened up about his past role as Dan on Gossip Girl and revealed the one thing that he thinks is the worst thing Dan every did – and many fans will agree with him.

Speaking to Esquire, Penn was quick to point out that the worst thing involved Jenny Humphrey, his younger sister.

“He outed his sister losing her virginity,” he said, without any real hesitation. “These storylines are twisted. This is villainous.”

He also opened up about one scene he found particularly difficult to film.

“The last one where I had to say, ‘Gossip Girl is dead,’ and I could not keep it together,” Penn revealed. “Something came over me and I just couldn’t say it. I kept laughing. I couldn’t stop. I was sweating. I was having an out-of-body experience.”

Dan wasn’t supposed to be the original Gossip Girl, either.
