Kim Kardashian Reveals How Kanye West Has Influenced Her Brand SKIMS

Kim Kardashian is opening up about Kanye West‘s influence.

In a new interview with WSJ. Magazine, the 41-year-old reality star discussed SKIMS‘ new collaboration with Italian fashion house Fendi, as well as her ex-husband Kanye West‘s continued involvement with the brand.

When asked if she hoped to create a broad corporate enterprise, Kim said, “I hope so. But I think of it more on the day-to-day. I’m just like, this is my vision. This is what I want to get done. If it turns into this huge beauty conglomerate? Oh, my God; that’s so amazing! Obviously, it’s everyone’s goal. You want it to be as amazing and huge as possible.”

She said that the SKIMS collaboration with Fendi was the result of her friendship with designer Kim Jones. The pair first began discussing a collaboration in December of last year and they met in March for fitting sessions.

Kim added that as she’s been working to streamline her brands, she’s been relying on advice from Kanye.

“He expressed that there were too many branding situations. He’s always super simple,” she said. “I really wanted to condense my beauty brands. I wanted one place, one website, where everything can live.”

“He has a piece of SKIMS himself and gives [the team] inspiration but also information,” she continued. “I think he enjoys the process… Kanye will always be the most inspirational person to me.”

Earlier this month, it was revealed that Kim had purchased her family’s Los Angeles home from Kanye.
