Dwayne Johnson Says Vin Diesel Jokes in His New Movie 'Play Great' with His Audience

Dwayne Johnson isn’t afraid to make some lighthearted jokes about Vin Diesel.

The 49-year-old actor confirmed in an interview on Sirius XM’s The Jess Cagle Show on Tuesday (November 2) that his new film, the heist thrilled Red Notice, features a joke about his former Fast & Furious co-star. The pair publicly feuded back in 2016.

Host Jess Cagle said he was worried the joke would “set everything off again” between the two actors, leading Dwayne to say that the playful dig was not his idea.

“People were asking me about that and they just, they find a way, and you know, what’s interesting is, you know, these Vin Diesel jokes, which play great by the way to the audience, which is always a good thing… because it’s really, it’s all about them,” he said.

He continued, “But, people think these jokes come from me and they actually don’t. I mean, you’d be surprised at how many people come to me with ‘I got a great one.’ I’m like ‘okay.’ ‘I got another great Vin Diesel joke.’ ‘I’m sure you do.’ Always funny.”

The pair’s feud began after Dwayne called out one of his male costars on Instagram, which was later revealed to be Vin. They then held a private meeting to work through their issues.

Vin opened up about the tension with his co-star earlier this year, sharing that his approach while working on the film was “a lot of tough love.”
