Salma Hayek Recalls Almost Being Killed On Hollywood Boulevard During Walk of Fame Ceremony

Salma Hayek poses with her husband Francois-Henri Pinault and their daughter, Valentina, during her Hollywood Walk of Fame Star Ceremony on Friday night (November 19) in Los Angeles,
The 55-year-old actress, who wore Alexander McQueen, was honored with a star on the famed landmark, and was celebrated by her Eternals director Chloe Zhao, and Spanglish co-star Adam Sandler.
During the event, Salma recalled one particular, and terrifying moment that happened on Hollywood Boulevard when she was first starting her career in LA.
“I remember the studio saying to me many times, ‘Why don’t you go back to the (Mexican) telenovelas? You’ll never find a job here.’ And of course this night, I almost got killed,” Salma shared with the crowd. “So I said, ‘Nobody wants me here. They want me in my country.’”
She added, “But I stayed. I stayed.”
“I want to say to everybody that’s here, all my lovely fans: If you ask yourself what gave me the courage to stay, I say it was you because although they didn’t know me, here in Hollywood, the studios, all the Latins that are in the United States knew who I was. They understood that I came here with dreams like they did.”
