Casey Affleck to Star in Sci-Fi Thriller 'Slingshot' Opposite Laurence Fishburne & Emily Beecham
Casey Affleck is taking on a new role.
According to THR, the actor will star opposite Laurence Fishburne and Emily Beecham in the upcoming psychological sci-fi thriller Slingshot.

The film will reportedly “tell the story of an astronaut struggling to maintain his grip on reality aboard a possibly fatally compromised mission to Saturn’s moon Titan.”
The key cast also includes The Boys‘ Tomer Kapone and The Walking Dead actor David Morrissey.
Principal photography is slated to begin Dec. 1 and will be directed by Mikael Håfström, known for his work on Outside the Wire, Escape Plan, The Rite and 1408.
“After several years of preparation, it is exciting to take off with this highly talented cast,” the director told THR. “I am looking forward to the challenge of working within the contained environment of the spaceship. The script carves out some excellent characters and, as the story unfolds, some shocking secrets come to light.”
