Chris Noth Gives His Real Opinion on Kim Cattrall's Description of Sarah Jessica Parker

Chris Noth worked closely alongside Sarah Jessica Parker, and the rest of the Sex and the City cast, during the show’s original run on HBO, as well as the two subsequent movies.

Now, Chris is working again with most of the cast in the HBO Max reboot, And Just Like That. Kim Cattrall is one of the only original cast members who chose not to return.

For the first time, Chris was asked about Kim Cattrall and her decision not to re-join the cast, as well as his take on what Kim publicly said about SJP.

First, some backstory: In 2017, Kim revealed that she was never friends with her co-stars and the relationships on set felt “toxic.” She also revealed she wouldn’t do a third film with them. Then, months later in early 2018, Kim‘s brother suddenly passed away and Sarah Jessica wrote a comment on Kim‘s Instagram post, expressing her condolences and seemingly, mending their broken relationship. Later on, Kim suddenly lashed out at SJP for “exploiting” her family’s tragedy. Kim was rumored to be the reason why a third Sex and the City movie never came to fruition.

When SJP wrote to Kim publicly about her brother, Kim responded publicly as well, stating, “So I’m writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your ‘nice girl’ persona”

In a recent interview, Chris was asked about the drama, telling The Guardian, “I have to tell you, I have absolutely no idea what her thinking is, or her emotions. I do know that I’m very close with SJ and [Cattrall’s] descriptions of her don’t even come close. I liked her, I thought she was marvelous in the show and some people move on for their own reasons. I don’t know what hers were. I just wish that whole thing had never happened because it was sad and uncomfortable.”

“I just don’t like to see anyone talking down about SJ because she’s a target and people can be nasty. I feel very protective of her and I was not happy about that. That’s all I’ll say about that,” he added.
