Soccer Legend Pele Has Been Hospitalized For Cancer Treatment in Brazil

Pele, the iconic and legendary soccer star from Brazil, is currently undergoing treatment for colon cancer.

First reported by TMZ, 81-year-old Pele, who was named FIFA’s Player Of The Century, is receiving chemotherapy to combat the cancer at Sao Paolo Hospital Albert Einstein.

Both the hospital and his assistant announced the news this week to fans, after Pele was diagnosed in September. At that time, he underwent surgery to remove a tumor in September, and spent around a month in the hospital.

Before the news broke, Pele updated fans about his condition, saying that he was feeling fine.

“Friends, it’s been a while since we talked about this. I want to let you know that I’m fine,” he wrote. “I feel better every day. I don’t think even the mask for my protection can hide my happiness. Thank you very much to all of you who send me good energy daily.”
