Damien said he “immediately clicked” with Brad after meeting him in Paris, per People.
“It was an intense moment where we just talked and talked about sound,” he recalled. “I was amazed at how sensitive and precise he was in his analysis of music.”
The studio was originally built in 1977 by Chateau Miraval’s previous owner Jacques Loussier and was largely unused until the pair decided to restore it.
The new space will include a significant portion of the original recording equipment and will also feature a desk personally designed by Brad and Damien.
The producer says the studio has “redefined a remarkable natural reverb so we can record voices or instruments anywhere in the studio. It really is a space where you can produce anything from pop and rock, to hip-hop and classical records.”
There’s also a tower connected to the studio where musicians can stay and other amenities, like access to the estate’s swimming pool and catering from the chefs.
Brad bought the vineyard with his then-wife Angelina Jolie in 2012 and they were married there in 2014.
Back in September, Brad launched a new legal battle with Angelina over the estate. Find out more…
