'SNL' Announces Changes for Final Live Show of 2021 Amid Pandemic Surge

There are some changes being put in place for tonight’s new episode of Saturday Night Live, which will mark the final show of 2021.

Paul Rudd is hosting with Charli XCX as the musical guest.

The show’s social media team took to Twitter on Saturday afternoon (December 18) to announce the changes that are being made amid the surge in the pandemic.

“Due to the recent spike in the Omicron variant and out of an abundance of caution, there will be no live audience for tonight’s taping of Saturday Night Live and the show will have limited cast and crew,” the show tweeted.

The statement continued, “The show continues to follow all government safety guidelines in addition to a rigorous testing protocol.”
