Peng spoke to Lianhe Zaobao, a Chinese-language Singapore publication owned by government-controlled Singapore Press Holdings Ltd., in a six-minute video interview, via People.

“First, I need to stress one point that is extremely important, I have never said or written that anyone has sexually assaulted me, I have to clearly stress this point,” she said.

Then, as she was asked further about the social media post that has since been deleted, she said “there are a lot of misunderstanding[s], so there’s nothing to say…about this interpretation and distortion.”

Peng added in the video that she had been staying at home in Beijing and that she’s “always been free.”

Concern for Peng arose after she made the claims and hadn’t been seen publicly for three weeks prior to that.
