Rafael Nadal Tests Positive for COVID-19 After Returning from Abu Dhabi Exhibition Match

Rafael Nadal has tested positive for COVID-19 after playing an exhibition tournament in Abu Dhabi.

The 35-year-old tennis star announced the news on Twitter on Monday (December 20).

He said that while he had been dealing with some “unpleasant moments” while sick, he hopes he improve “little by little,” per ET Canada.

Rafael went on to say that he was isolating at home and those he had contact with had been notified about his positive result.

He also said that he had been tested every two days while away and that all of his results had been negative, save for the test on Saturday.

The 20-time Grand Slam champion has been recovering from a chronic foot injury over the final few months of this season, with his match against Andy Murray in Abu Dhabi on Friday being the first in four months.
