Hit Songs That the Artists Now Regret

Britney Spears, “Sometimes”

Britney fans might live for the nostalgia of her earliest hits, but she doesn’t always necessarily have the same feelings for her early work.

The Glory pop princess teased one track in particular that she isn’t fond of during her Onyx Hotel Tour in 2004, as she was exiting the stage. “I have to go? I haven’t even sung ‘Sometimes’ yet! Oh God! I never liked that song anyway!” she playfully teased.

The Beatles, “Let It Be”

John Lennon was not the biggest fan of one of his band’s most iconic songs, “Let It Be.”

He notoriously had creative differences with bandmate Paul McCartney, and reportedly called Paul‘s style “granny music.”

“I don’t know what he’s thinking when he writes ‘Let It Be.’ That’s Paul. What can you say? Nothing to do with The Beatles. It could’ve been Wings…I think it was inspired by [Simon & Garfunkel's] ‘Bridge Over Troubled Waters (sic).’ That’s my feeling, although I have nothing to go on. I know he wanted to write a Bridge Over Troubled Waters,” he later said.

Gucci Mane, “Gucci Time”

Gucci Mane doesn’t think his hit “Gucci Time” is that, well, Gucci.

The rapper made an appearance on The Breakfast Club shortly after dropping the song with Swizz Beatz from his sophomore record The Appeal: Georgia’s Most Wanted, and called it the worst song of his career. Even if he’s not a fan, the public seemingly was: the song went to No. 12 on the U.S. Billboard Rap Songs chart.
