Hit Songs That the Artists Now Regret

Paramore, “Misery Business”

Hayley Williams officially nixed one of the band’s biggest hits from live shows back in 2018 following discussion online about some of the “anti-feminist” lyricism in the track, especially the line “Once a whore, you’re nothing more, I’m sorry that’ll never change.”

“This is a choice that we’ve made because we feel that we should. We feel like it’s time to move away from it for a little while,” she said.

James Blunt, “You’re Beautiful”

The English singer-songwriter revealed that his massively popular 2005 song annoyed him after it became so oversaturated. “[It] was force-fed down people’s throats, and it became annoying, and then people start to associate the artist with the same word,” he explained to Hello! of the track’s over-popularity, adding that it wrongly painted him as an “insanely serious person.”
