Hoda Kotb Debuts New Darker Hair Color, Calls It A 'Happy Accident'

Hoda Kotb has said goodbye to her light-colored hair!

On Tuesday (December 21), the 57-year-old news anchor debuted her new darker hair while hosting Today.

While chatting with co-host Sheinelle Jones, Hoda said that the new darker hair color was all a “happy accident.”

As she was getting ready to see extended family for the holidays, Hoda said she decided to do keratin treatment – a semi-permanent hair smoothing method – but after three hours of the treatment, her hair was “fire engine orange.”

“It was Bozo orange,” Hoda recalled, before adding, “there was something funky with the chemicals…I was like an orange Q-tip.”

Hours before she was supposed to go on air for her morning show, Hoda and her hairstylist woke up at 3:15 in the morning to fix her hair.

“She just started putting stuff on it, and it’s dark brown now, so, that’s the way it is,” Hoda said with a smile. “There you go.”
