SPOILER ALERT! This post contains some major spoilers for The King’s Man, so continue reading at your own risk.
There is a huge star who makes a surprise appearance in the new movie The King’s Man and the film’s ending make it seem like he’s going to be the next leading man in the franchise.
Click inside to find out who it is and who he plays…
The King’s Man stars Ralph Fiennes as Orlando Oxford, who is racing against time to stop a collection of history’s worst tyrants and criminal masterminds from wiping out millions.
Harris Dickinson plays his son Conrad and despite his father’s wishes, he goes off to war to help England in the fight against Germany. King George gives Orlando a favor and orders Conrad to be sent home instead of seeing any actual war, but Conrad switches places with another soldier.
That other soldier is played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who is best known for starring in movies like Kick-Ass, Tenet, Godzilla, and Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Aaron plays Archie Reid, who is given the gift of life by Conrad. He returns to the Oxford home to deliver Conrad’s final message to his father. Conrad is killed at war in a devastating moment when he’s mistaken for a German spy.
At the end of the movie, Orlando creates the Kingsman agency and Archie is one of the five people he brings in for the launch. It seems clear that he’ll be around for the next installment in the franchise! (If it happens, that is!)
While Aaron‘s involvement in the movie had been rumored in the past, he was not included in any marketing materials and his casting was never officially confirmed. His rumored role was also different than what was featured in the film, giving fans a surprise.
