ABC Loses Two Headliners for New Year's Eve Show, Including LL Cool J

LL Cool J has announced that he is dropping out of the Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest broadcast, which is airing on ABC on Friday night.

The 53-year-old entertainer has announced that he tested positive for COVID-19 and will no longer be able to appear live in Times Square.

He said in a statement, “I know it’s disappointing to the millions of fans but my test came back positive for COVID, which means I’ll no longer be able to perform as scheduled at NYRE. We were ready and I was really looking forward to ringing in 2022 in my hometown in a special way, but for now I wish everyone a healthy and happy New Year. The best is yet to come!“

LL Cool J isn’t the only headliner to drop out.
