Billie Joe Armstrong Cancels Appearance on Miley Cyrus New Year's Special

Billie Joe Armstrong is backing out.

The 49-year-old Green Day superstar confirmed on his Instagram Story that he will not be appearing on Miley Cyrus and Pete Davidson‘s New Year’s Eve special on Friday (December 31) in Miami, Fla.

“After the holiday I found out I was exposed to COVID,” he wrote on his Story.

“I’ve tested negative but I have made the decision not to travel to Miami for New Year’s Eve Party out of caution,” he continued.

“Happy New Year and hope everyone stays safe!”

The show is set to include performances with artists like Saweetie and rapper 24kGoldn, as well as Miley’s sister Noah Cyrus, but most of the specific details of the special are still being kept under wraps.
