Will Arnett Replaces Armie Hammer in Taika Waititi's 'Next Goal Wins' Movie

Will Arnett is taking over a role that was previously played by Armie Hammer.

Deadline reports that the -year-old actor has stepped into the part in Taika Waititi‘s next new movie, Next Goal Wins.

According to the site, the flick will center on the American Samoa soccer team as they compete in the 2014 World Cup Qualifiers. The team hires down-on-his-luck, maverick coach Thomas Rongen (Michael Fassbender) hoping he will turn the world’s worst soccer team around.

Will stepped into the role as reshoots were underway and Armie was unavailable for them.

The part is that of an executive at the Football Federation American Samoa, and it was revamped to be slightly bigger.

Next Goal Wins will also star Elizabeth Moss, Oscar Kightley, David Fane, Beulah Koale, Lehi Falepapalangi, Semu Filipo, Uli Latukefu, Rachel House, Kaimana, Chris Alosio, Rhys Darby and Angus Sampson.

If you missed it, Disney appears to be moving ahead with the release of Death on the Nile, which Armie is a part of.
