Rapper Kodak Black Arrested in Florida, Facing a Trespassing Charge

Kodak Black was arrested on New Year’s Day.

The 24-year-old rapper was taken into custody on a trespassing charge, according to the Sun Sentinel newspaper.

Officials told the paper that the rapper, whose real name is Bill Kapri, was arrested in Pompano Beach, Florida at around 1:30am on Saturday morning (January 1). The arrest took place in the area of town where he grew up.

No other details are known at this time, but we do know that Black posted bond and was released from custody.

Kodak Black previously served prison time for falsifying documents to buy weapons at a gun store in Miami. On Donald Trump‘s last day in office in 2020, the former president commuted his three-year sentence. The rapper had served half of his sentence at the time.

The rapper also faced legal trouble after he accepted a plea deal in an assault case. He was accused of assaulting a teenage girl in a South Carolina hotel room and he pleaded guilty to first-degree assault, for which he was sentenced to probation.

A video of Kodak Black caused an uproar on social media last summer.
