Ed Sheeran Reveals The 'South Park' Episode That 'Ruined' His Life

Ed Sheeran is voicing his issues with South Park.

While speaking with Slam Radio, Ed said that 2005 episode of South Park, titled “Ginger Kids,” where they made fun of people with ginger-hued hair revealing affected the beginning of his career.

In the South Park episode, Cartman delivered a presentation at school on “gingervitus,” a disease that curses “ginger kids” with “very light skin, red hair and freckles,” and “occurs because ginger kids have no souls.”

“Having red hair in England was always a thing that people took the piss out of you for,” Ed said, via The Independent. “But it was never something in America. People never knew what a ginger was in America.”

That episode of South Park f–king ruined my life,” Ed said.

“I was going to America and everyone was like, ’I love your hair dude.’ And I was like ‘Oh my god, people like my hair?’” Ed recalled. “And then I remember that episode coming out and that was just it worldwide for the rest of my life.”

Despite his negative feelings towards about that particular episode, Ed said that he’s still a big fan of South Park and would love to voice a character on the show one day.

In another recent interview, Ed Sheeran revealed why he avoids using urinals in public restrooms.
