'RHOSLC' Star Meredith Marks Responds to Mary Cosby's Alleged Racist Comments Towards Jennie Nguyen

Meredith Marks is setting the record straight about a recent episode of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.

During Sunday’s episode (January 2), fellow RHOSLC star Jennie Nguyen confronted Mary Cosby for racist comments she claimed Mary had made about her appearance.

After the episode aired, fans took to social media to call out Meredith for not calling Mary out for her remarks. She responded by claiming that she had spoken with Mary privately about the matter.

“I later talked to Mary one on one in hopes that would be productive. I also made sure Jennie knew that she has my support,” Meredith wrote on Twitter. “Please be patient #rhoslc.”

Mary then responded in a tweet of her own.

“Really Meredith?? You had a conversation with me hoping it would be productive!! You was there …you seen I was coming from a place of a compliment!” she wrote. “Stop acting like your teaching me.. you have your own issues to be productive on…You never have the right answer.. ‘Switzerland.”

During the episode, Jennie told Mary that remarks she had made about her eyes at their recent luncheon had left her feeling “insulted.”

“Really? I love slanted eyes,” Mary replied.

Jennie noted that Mary was still using the phrase.

“You’re an adult, take some responsibility,” she said. “Right now, there is a lot of Asian hate. Take responsibility for your words.”

“I didn’t mean any harm by that. Like, for me, it’s a compliment,” Mary replied. Jennie explained, “You can say things differently, like, I love your beautiful eyes. But when you reference ‘I love your slanted eyes,’ you know, it’s very insulting to me.”

Last month, Mary apologized for a separate racist remark she made about her co-star Jen Shah.
