Jeff Lewis Says 5-Year-Old Daughter Monroe Threatened to Cut Ties with Him for Talking About Her on Air

Jeff Lewis is getting candid about an “upsetting” conversation he had with his 5-year-old daughter Monroe.

Last week, the Flipping Out alum revealed that his daughter had been denied admission to a private school, a decision that came after he made headlines for throwing a “superspreader” holiday party for 30 of his employees and friends.

Jeff shared that as a result, Monroe had threatened to cut ties with him unless he stopped discussing her on the radio.

Jeff claimed that his ex and co-parent Gage Edwards decided to explain what had happened to Monroe after she expressed that she was scared of nuns.

“Gage thought he should tell her that I’ve been talking about her on the radio and that as a result, she’s not going to be admitted to certain schools and that she’s going to have to go to a Catholic school with the nuns,” he said.

“So she called me crying and… she was pretty mad,” he continued. “I didn’t expect her to say this so young, I expected her to say this when she was a teenager, but she said if I continue to talk to me on the radio that she will not see me again until she’s a grownup.”

The reality star said that he “hopes” the situation with Monroe will pass and added that he was upset with Gage, who he says has been “less than thrilled” about their daughter not getting into school because of all the media coverage.

He continued, “I texted Gage and I said, ‘Look, I never say anything negative about Monroe to you ever and this feels decisive. I would never want to turn her against you, which is what it seems like you are doing right now. You’re mad at me, please don’t use her to take it out on me.’”

“Literally half my life I’m mad at Gage, but my daughter would never know it. It was hard because she was so upset and then I’m not going to see her until Tuesday, so I can’t really reason with her.”

“I don’t appreciate him getting in her head about these things and I hope he realizes he’s made a mistake in using her to get back at me,” Jeff continued.

He went on to say that he wasn’t overly concerned about the drama concerning Monroe‘s school.

“Look, I want a good education for my daughter and I think there’s a lot of options out there,” he said. “And I think that if they choose not to admit her, that’s fine, we’re going to find the right school for her.”
