Lily Collins & Charlie McDowell Stayed in a Swedish Treehouse with No Plumbing for Their Honeymoon

Lily Collins had a very memorable honeymoon with her husband Charlie McDowell!

During Tuesday’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the Emily in Paris star shared some new details about their Colorado wedding and Scandinavian honeymoon.

“It was a place called Dunton Hot Springs in Colorado,” she said of their wedding venue. “We had never actually been there until about the day before we got married, which was really fun planning a wedding before visiting a location.”

Lily went on to describe their first time meeting as “one of those cheesy but ‘true love at first sight’ things.”

When Ellen asked if the couple knew they were both “outdoorsy” when they met, the actress replied: “No. He did not know that I was very outdoorsy. I don’t think I knew I was quite as outdoorsy as I became, but I grew up in the English countryside, so I’ve always loved being outdoors.”

Lily said that she and Charlie are “embracing new adventures,” and added that their honeymoon in Scandinavia was a “foodie adventure tour.”

Ellen shared some photos from the pair’s trip, part of which took place at a treehouse designed by a famous Swedish architect.

“It has a literal tree that goes in the middle of it and there’s this netting that you can lie on your back and stare at the stars,” Lily shared. She also explained that while it was “so beautiful and romantic,” there was no plumbing in the house, making the bathroom experience a little unusual.

“You do anything you’re gonna do into a paper bag, which then gets incinerated, which then turns to dust, which gets buried and made into a tree!” she told the host, who looked unimpressed. “It was intimate, I’ll tell you that much.”
