Ryan Gosling Explains How His Career Goals Have Changed Over the Years
Ryan Gosling is taking a look back at his career and pointing out how his goals have evolved over the years.
The 41-year-old actor admitted that when he first started working, he considered his “job” to be finding any role.
“I felt my job was just to get work. I was trying to pay my rent and maybe get some health insurance,” Ryan said in a new interview with British GQ.

Ryan said that he later had a new goal once he started working regularly. The new goal was “just to take on roles that would challenge me.”
While he didn’t say which roles he was referring to, Ryan noted that he realized his movies weren’t being viewed by a mass audience.
“That got boring, because it was for an audience of one. Movies are also made to be watched by other people,” he said, adding that ever since, “I’ve tried to look for films that can work for us both.”
Ryan has several blockbuster movies on the horizon, including Netflix’s The Gray Man, the upcoming Wolfman movie, and the live-action Barbie film.
