Antonio Brown Makes Statement About His Now Viral Football Exit From Tampa Bay Buccaneers Game

Antonio Brown has released a statement just days after his ejection from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers football game over the weekend.

If you missed the now viral and much-talked about moment, Antonio was seen tearing off his jersey and most of his football gear, before heading inside the locker room after apparently refusing to play in the game.

Now, in his statement, Antonio is claiming that he has been nursing a busted ankle, and it was a reason behind the moment on the field.

“Because of my commitment to the game, I relented to pressure directly from my coach to play injured. Despite the pain, I suited up, the staff injected me with what I know now was a powerful and sometimes dangerous painkiller that the NFLPA has warned against using, and I gave it my all for my team,” he shared in a statement that was released by his attorneys.

He continued on, writing, “I played until I could not use my ankle to safely perform my playing responsibilities.”

“I didn’t quit. I was cut. I didn’t walk away from my brothers. I was thrown out. Being fired on the sideline for having a painful injury was bad enough,” the statement shared. “Then came their ‘spin.’ Coach denied on national television that he knew about my ankle. That’s 100% inaccurate.”

Following the game, Coach Bruce Arians said that Antonio was now off the team for his actions.
