More Than 50 People Test Positive for COVID-19 on 'Star Trek: Picard' Set

There was a major outbreak of COVID-19 on the set of Star Trek: Picard.

The Paramount+ drama was shut down since Monday (January 3) after more than 50 members of the production tested positive, THR reported.

It was also the first day of work after Christmas break on the Patrick Stewart-led series, and has one of the biggest crews in television right now, with over 450 on staff.

The infections “impacted multiple zones, including cast in zone A.”

Sources tell the outlet that filming is expected to resume early next week, if not sooner.

The outbreak of the omicron variant has caused the cancellation, postponement and delay of several TV shows, movies and award shows in recent weeks.
