Logan Paul Drops Millions of Dollars on Pokemon Trading Cards That Could Be Fake

Logan Paul is taking his Pokemon obsession to the next level.

Last month, the social media star announced that he had spent $3.5 million on a set of first edition Pokemon cards.

While he believed the “sealed and authenticated box” to be one-of-a-kind, a number of collections and experts have since questioned the cards’ authenticity.

Complex writes that PokeBeach, an online community dedicated for Pokemon fans, investigated the set and revealed there were a number of red flags, including inconsistencies with the product code, the tape used on the box, as well as the original eBay listing for the set.

“The Base Set case first appeared on Canada’s eBay site on March 29th, 2021. Fans could place their bids for 10 days. The seller ‘number1pokemonmaster’ had almost no feedback and their listing was riddled with significant grammar errors. The seller also changed their username right before the auction went live, as if to hide their history,” per PokeBeach.

Logan shared that he would be taking the case to Chicago to get the cards verified by Baseball Card Exchange, the company who had previously confirmed their authenticity. However, PokeBeach has noted that BCE isn’t known for verifying Pokemon cards.

Last year, Logan had announced that he had spent $2 million on Pokemon cards in a separate video.
