Mahershala Ali to Star in Onyx Collective Series 'The Plot' at Hulu

Mahershala Ali‘s new series has landed at Hulu.

Onyx Collection, Disney’s content brand dedicated to programming from artists of color and underrepresented voices, has won its first major bidding war and ordered the actor’s new drama The Plot.

Mahershala is attached as an executive producer and star of the eight-episode limited series, which is adapted from Jean Hanff Korelitz’s novel of the same name.

THR writes that the actor will play Jake, “a struggling author, who commits an act of literary theft that changes his life irrevocably. The series follows the how far Jake will go to protect himself and the new life he’s built now that someone knows his secret and is threatening him.”

Marshala is also set to star in a new Blade movie at Marvel, which he actually pitched himself!
