Kanye West Named as a Suspect in a Criminal Battery Investigation

Kanye West is a suspect.

The 44-year-old rapper was named a suspect in a battery report early on Thursday morning (January 13), Variety reported.

The report was taken by the LAPD’s Newton Division. He was not arrested.

LAPD spokesperson Redina Puentes told the news outlet that the incident occurred at about 3 a.m. at South Santa Fe Avenue and Bay Street in downtown Los Angeles, outside of Soho Warehouse, a members-only club.

The incident is being investigated as misdemeanor battery, which carries a maximum jail sentence of six months, via TMZ.

In footage posted by TMZ from the scene, Kanye can be heard yelling “Did y’all say that or not? Did y’all say that or not? ‘Cause that’s what happened right f–king now.”

Kanye was reportedly at Delilah nightclub in West Hollywood before that with actor Julia Fox, leaving while she remained at the club. Kanye was also spotted hanging out with more stars that night.
