Stars Who Regret Their Movie & TV Roles

Sean Connery

Sean Connery, Diamonds Are Forever

Sean was not a fan of the overwhelming success and lasting legacy of his role as James Bond.

Bond was the role with which he became forever linked. It brought him the fame and the escape and, most importantly, the financial security he had always sought; whether it brought him deep satisfaction is open to interpretation. By the time of Diamonds are Forever he was so fed up with the money that he gave his fee to charity. ‘I have always hated that damned James Bond,’ he has said. ‘I’d like to kill him,’” The Guardian reported in 2004.

Kate Winslet

Kate Winslet, Titanic

Kate doesn’t necessarily regret the role as much as she’s embarrassed by seeing herself on screen – and she wants a re-do.

“Every single scene, I’m like ‘Really, really? You did it like that? Oh my God.’ Even my American accent, I can’t listen to it. It’s awful. Hopefully it’s so much better now. It sounds terribly self indulgent but actors do tend to be very self-critical. I have a hard time watching any of my performances, but watching Titanic I was just like ‘Oh God, I want to do that again,’” she confessed to CNN years ago.
